Hello! I’m Sav. I’m just a good ole Southern girl with a background in finance and a thirst for adventure. I believe that anyone can travel if they know how! My goal for SavviScouts is to help you plan your trips in a financially sustainable way while still being prepared for the unexpected – both financially and emotionally. I am currently an expat in Germany with plans to move back to the States in the summer of 2018. If you have any questions about how to start traveling, please comment/ send me a message – I’d love to help!
The First Time is the Hardest
I didn’t start traveling until I was 24. Until then, I had never been out of the USA! (Except to Canada. But everyone knows that Canada barely counts.) My first trip abroad was with my brother and a good friend. We backpacked around Europe for 3 weeks, and it was the most exciting thing we’d ever done. People kept telling me that it was the “trip of a lifetime”, but, at that point, I knew that I wanted to travel again and again. That trip sparked an unending desire to go more, see more, and experience more.

Since then, I feel like I have grown so much as a person. (I obviously still have a long way to go.) Not to be too cliché, but travel truly has expanded my horizons! I have a deeper love for people and an understanding of different cultures that I never thought was possible. This is what I want for other people. I want to help you connect with people of other cultures and truly experience the beauty of this world in a way that can only happen if you go out there and make it happen.
Where to Start
First of all, you need to make sure that you are financially ready to start exploring the world. Whether you want to visit a local national park for the weekend or go to Thailand for a month, you need to have a realistic budget ahead of time.
Secondly, you need to decide where to go. This sounds like a no-brainer, but it really depends on your budget, length of trip, number of travelers, and type of travel (luxury, adventure, relaxing, etc.).
Just remember, all the planning in the world is great, but it doesn’t get you out the door. Eventually, you just have to GO.

What to Expect From Me
I want to help you realistically plan for your travel experiences! There are so many resources out there for where to go and what to do and how to do it that it can seem overwhelming. I will share my own personal adventures with you, but I want my focus to be you, not me. What is it that you need to know to get yourself out the door and start your own adventures? It wasn’t the easiest thing in the world for me to start my adventures, but it was totally worth it. If I can help you achieve your goals with regard to exploring, I want to make that happen.

On top of the world!! Or just on top of a mountain
